MARMO STORIES

Marble and furniture, timeless trends by Marmo Elite

There is no better combination than marble and furniture. Marble has always been used for walls, coverings and furnishings that can enrich the domestic environment, architectural works, offices and retail outlets.

Our long experience as Beauty Hunters requires us to be receptive to new trends and the most exclusive materials for our interior projects. But sometimes we must go beyond the must-haves and create our own trend.

Here we present 3 timeless trends for marble and furniture that have been with us until 2024 and will continue to bring beauty to the projects of 2025.

EXCEPTIONAL NUANCES FOR UNFORGETTABLE HOME FURNISHINGS

In our designs, we don’t want marble and furniture to be two separate elements, but to interact and create environments that are not only functional and welcoming, but also modern and, – why not – stunning.

This blend is achieved by choosing natural stones featuring vivid colors and distinctive veining, crafted into exclusive, desirable details.

The first example is these small table lamp bases made of Alabaster Onyx, a special type of onyx with white, vanilla, and salmon veins. A detail that plays not only with light, but also with shape and color.

The second example is represented by a few strips of Emerald Green Onyx that are used to compose the frame of a mirror.

The veined texture, with shades ranging from green to bronze, creates a striking and sophisticated motif for a unique and extremely elegant interior accessory.

The latest example of this is the Honey Onyx solid inserts, which combine the charm of a golden background with the splendor of the solid version, a finish that expresses the full beauty of marble in three dimensions.

EVERGREEN, THE NEVER-TIRING COLOUR

Using natural stone in shades of green to create furniture or coverings is certainly one of the most enduring combinations of marble and furniture. Green is, in fact, a relaxing and versatile color, suitable for exclusive environments where peace and elegance are sought after.

Patagonia Green is a deep green Brazilian quartzite with dramatic white veining. Whether used for a small table with a polished finish or as a wall covering in the bathroom, its appearance will always manage to enchant the eye of the beholder.

Green Onyx is another of our favorites, here used as a console table top. Characterized by a cloudy texture and adorned with a pronounced golden bronze veining, this is a natural stone that blends in well with wood, brass and other brown or chocolate-colored stone claddings.

PLAYING WITH LIGHT USING BACKLIT STONES

When we talk about marble and furniture, it is impossible not to mention backlighting. This is a highly effective use of natural stones that exploits their translucent and transparent qualities to create remarkable scenic effects by placing light sources on the back of the materials.

Whether for doors or cladding, facades or counters, backlit stone applications are a source of unprecedented visual effects. They create a focal point in the environment in which they are used, while at the same time managing to actively interact with the elements placed around them.

In the photos shown here, we have used this technique on several carefully selected materials that are naturally suited to this type of treatment: from Ivory Onyx on a door, to White Onyx on a counter and vertical cladding, to Calacatta.
